The Finnish Pavilion at the 1900 World Fair
The Finnish pavilion at the Paris 1900 World Fair was an important national milestone, bringing together the contemporary top architects, artists and designers in an effort to portray Finland as a modern and distinctive nation to an international audience. After the exhibition ended the building was demolished and its contents spread across the Europe. This project involves the creation of a virtual interactive reconstruction of the pavilion.
The project was begun as part of ongoing research in the areas of 3D interface design and digital cultural heritage. The final installation has been exhibited in a museum, which provided the possibility to observe its users in a real environment.
